When you add manure there are two things that come to mind. One is that the
are high levels of phosphate in manure. If you continue to add it to you gaden
these levels will build up. No one has shown this to be a real problem but it
is one reason people make their own compost piles, not that much phosphate but
most of the other nutrients in low level plus organic content. Also this is
why some growers use "green manure." Another consideration when you add manure
to your garden is how much organic matter do you want. If you get over 10%
organic matter in your garden it may pedispose your plot to various diseases
you otherwise might not have had to deal with. Does anyone else out there have
disagreement with my thoughts???
