In a perfect world, we would have records of every pumpkin ever grown from
the smallest to the largest. Unfortunately, that is not the case. People are
more inclined to document their successes rather than their failures. There
is not enough time to record everything and most people would rather see
records of the large ones rather than the small. Limitations of space and
time tend to direct our documentation efforts to those fruit of a more
outstanding nature.
I have recently added an interactive feature to the AGGC site that allows
the grower to comment on the performance of the seeds they have grown.
Perhaps this will give us a better look at exactly what is going on in
eveyone's patch and show us which seeds are excelling consistently and which
are merely 'lucky stars'.
