When one is not enough
Connie G and list,
You posted that you lost half your growing space, and I'm playing
catch-up. What I did to try to learn as much as possible by doing and
increase my patch size is: I offered to teach a local cub scout pack to
grow a giant. So two of my pumpkins will grow at the home of the scout
leader, and the other two will grow where I grow.
Now, who has some ideas to share about fundraisers that do not include
auctioning or raffling seeds? I thought of having the scouts collect
pledges for x-cents per pound of pumpkin grown, a variation on the
walkathon theme. Or selling guesses on the size the pumpkin will
actually reach, a variation on the "guess the # of marbles" theme.
Can anyone shoot these down for me, tell me why I shouldn't try them, or
offer something better? Thanks!
Kathie
