Re: Squash Vine Borers

dOUG,

Cygon 2e is used by the commercial pumkin farmers. You can use it twice a season, also merit as a granular is excellent, I used Grub ex last year and I had no problem with the borer, lots of holes but no damage. I used isotox the year before and that works but is a little too potent for my liking. I plan on using merit this year because I can get away with less spraying. I use admire later in the season which has the same active ingredient as merit.

Subject: Squash Vine Borers

Hello,
Squash vine borers have killed all my pumpkin plants the last 2 out of 3 years. What is the best product I can use to control them? Would love to here from some of you who have defeated the borer. Thanks.
