Do you KNOW that corn resulting from 'the seeds of the mother' do
resemble the mother? I understood Andrew's comment to mean that the big
difference between corn and AG pumpkins - because he acknowledged a
difference - is that with corn it's possible to plant out the entire
ear's worth of seeds, whereas even Nic Welty and Gary Miller have been
unable to plant out all the seeds from an AG (despite their best
efforts). If it were possible to do that, THEN we could take a giant
step forward into pumpkin-gene research.
