I have spoken to Chris Andersen in CA and he grew his world champion in adobe
clay, municipal compost and tap water.

I don't think you can attribute pumpkin size to source of water, but rather to
the amount of water given at the right time, among a host of other cultivation
techniques, weather, soil, amount of sun, heat, etc.....the list goes on.

The key is to have everything be in sync, and have luck on your side.
