Mike, I will be interested in whether this protects them from the
borers. I can not relax yet with the idea of not being able to see where
problems are developing on the vines so as to give them the immediate
attention they need. I don't have faith that burying them in our
latitude will keep them from the dreaded borer. If they are above ground
at least you can get some sevin on them.
