Fertilization

Say Folks,

    Anyone out there in punkinland have any experience with a gimmicky
looking product out there called "SuperThrive" Comes in big brown
bottles and costs a mint.  Also marketed under the name "Hormex".  I
used it las year and it really seemed to perk up the vines, but Unles I
get som info on whether or not more experienced growers have had success
with this stuff, I'm not going to waste my money.

    Fertilizing is a bit of a mystery to me.  I know how to test and
amend the soil at the beginning, but fertilizing throughout the season
has always been haphazzard for me.  Perhaps someone of the zone 5
climate might let me in on a feeding schedule?  Thanks
