Doug and the rest of the list.
Here's the rundown on the chemicals: Capture-Restricted.
                                                          Sevin -General use
                                                          Thiodan -General use
with restrictions of 6 apps a yr/not more than 6 qts/ac(MD)
                                                           Asana -Restricted,
no more than 48 oz/ac per year
                                                           Malathion -General use
but MD ext svc doesn't recommend for svb
                                                          Ambush and Pounce are
restricted but not recommended for svb's
Maryland coop-extension service recommendations for SVB's are Asana, Capture,
Methoxychlor and Thiodan.
      " " "
" Squash Bug control are Ambush (rest), Asana, Capture, Pounce
(rest), and sevin.

I've been using a Thiodan/Asana/Sevin rotation and am quite happy with results so
far. Methoxychlor will replace Thiodan in 2 weeks. BTW I've found the best way
to get those pesky SVB moths is to carry a trigger-pump bottle of pyrethrin
spray. This kills them shortly after contact and you don't have to go into the
plant and trample roots and leaves to get to the buggers.
