pumpkin problem
Hi, first post. found alot of info here, thank you.
I am in my second year of trying to grow an atlantic giant but things arent
looking too good. this year i really put alot of work into it, good site
preperation, regular spaying of fungicide and pesticides etc. result is same
as last year. leaves start to wilt midday at first, and then they die all
together starting from the center and working out. I have done alot of
studing in the last year and i know about bacterial wilt, masiac virus, etc.
but it does'nt seem to fit the description of anything i have read, but i am
new at this so maybe it is common and i just do'nt realize it.
I live in southern indiana where temp. can reach over 100 and humidity is
always VERY high. can these pumpkins tolerate this heat??? what are the
chances of crossing a giant with our native "field" pumpkins which cant be
killed??
thank you for any help, and i can email pictures if anyone is interested
that i can email that might help diagnose... thank you
