Hi Marc,
Welcome to the sweepstakes!
You probably did well using three males. I do not think you can overdo,
unless you start rubbing the sticky stuff off the lobes. BTW, you probably
had four lobes. They are sort of indented, and without taking one apart, it
can be hard to see where one lobe leaves off and the other begins. Do some
surgery later in the season on a late female.
You can leave the rubber band on forever. The flower will dry out and fall
off after a week or so. The idea is just to keep insects out while the female
is "receptive." Which probably does not last more than a day, two at the very
most.
