Do you live in a area where Squash Vine Borers are present? I'm only a
rookie,but that sounds like a SVB to me.

concerns me. It is a little bigger than a wasp and very shiny black and the
one I saw today had a red stripe around it's mid-section. It flies very

Also, we have been getting these pesky little thunderstorms at least every

enough to wash off insect and desease control spray. I am using a mix of
Daconil and Thiodan for control. Is it damaging to the plant to have to
repeat application every 2 or 3 days because of rain?
