Ric, This heat is what I call the self pruning technique. Leave your tips
exposed and you'll be looking for a tertiary vine to take over. When it
gets really hot like yesterday I don't prune to close to the tips before I
bury the vine. Even with mister going at 10:00 am I lost most of my tips.
I had shade cloth covering one main that burned off last week and the new
tip burned off again yesterday.
