I too have caught possum and racoon Just ripe like you and I would eat it cut up in quaters put 2 or 3 quaters in the back of the trap and cut the rest in smaller pieces making a little trail to the trap, I f you have these other animals around you will accidently catch them too, I had 1 racoon caught the same one 3 times, he got used to the trap and was playing waiting for me to come and let him out the 3rd time, the racoon dosent bother the pumpkin but I had to relocate him because he kept coming back to the trap for more.
