Re: Ground hog devastation

Brian,
Thanks for the message. I Have two gardens, 30x60 and 40x45, 12 gauge fence
buried 15" all the way around 4' tall, with barb wire every foot up to 8'
( buried 11' posts from locust 3-31/2 ' deep.
Lot of work but still trouble with hogs. I will baffle the fence all the way
around and see if it helps. Also two strands of barb wire at top of 4'
fence. I got a have a hart trap and will use it, put some apples out tonight
to lure them, then will trap. My plants seem to be picking up and growing
larger secondaries off pimary. Pollinated a 771x771 2 days ago and a 771x789
today. The one is baseball size 9' out and the other 12' out. The baseball
size one is shiny and looks like it took, would you say? Would someone
please give me their opinion? It is 6lobes also. I at first thought my
season was over, but the plant produces miracles, I swear.

> Dont think him squezing through was the only way he got in, I have watched
them climb vertically over my wire fence like yours 3 ft straight up and
over, you need to curve the top back kind of like a squirl baffle to prvent
this. also if you have an extra trap and know you have climbers put one trap
in the patch, better to go for it then your pumpkin.
