RE: Ciliberto 983/ flat vines

Only affecting 'C' strains...watch out Larry :)

I have been having problems with multiple vining myself. I don't want to
call it flat-vining as only one plant seems to be doing this (Wyckoff 747).
My other pumpkins...Hester 850.5 & Maston 570...have both had multiple vines
this year. My curious question for the list...there are no side vines! The
Maston does not have a single decent side vine yet, and the Hester only has
one (which I theorize was a split, not a side vine.) The Hester seems to be
growing out of this, but the other two are still questionable.

As a side note, not one of my three squash did this. Does this indicate
pumpkin Genetics? Are squash better able to handle the weather conditions
that caused this? Hope the info helps. If anyone else has the same lack of
side vines, let me know.
