An alterative suggestion
If you use bleach cut it at least 10 to 1 with water. That would make a concentration of just under 1%. You can use hydrogen peroxide instead. you should be able to use it straight out of the bottle at 3% but cut it 50/50 with water to be conservative. I use Hydrogen Peroxide instead of bleach for washing vegetables, sterilizing dishes, and washing hands. I bought some food grade, 36%, hydrogen peroxide and cut it 11 to 1 with water and put it in spray bottles.
P.S.- H202 breaks down completely into water and oxygen and is completely non-toxic. Chlorine is a different story all together. It keeps municipal water free of parasites and bacteria (except Cryptosporidia), but should be removed from the water prior to consumption by humans or pumpkins.

List, I have some minor cracks in a pumpkin stem and before I treat it with fungicide I wanted to treat it with bleach first to kill off any bacteria. Does anyone know the proper bleach dilution rate? Thanks.
