Not wanting to disagree with you but....
In the last two years I had pumpkins that had the low measurements from stem to blossom end that you call favourable. Later in the season the pumpkins always had that typical wheel shape but turned into the "bird-bath" shape and fell over on their stem end. Nothing I would call favourable. I prefer the slightly longer ones...
