In 2001, my then landlord direct seeded an AG seed (thanks again, Chris
Andersen!) into a tire in mid-August. On Christmas Day he and the grandkids
harvested a 100-plus pounder.
It all depends on why you're growing, what do you wish to accomplish?
You can learn a LOT by planting late and doing everything right, writing
down your feeding and spraying and growth.
