Earwigs can fly? I thought maybe we were talking about different insects.
Here is a link to the page on earwigs in the wikipedia. This is the insect I
know as earwigs. There is a control section in this article, if you scroll
down, it says Diatomaceous earth can control them. I have earwigs in my patch
too. I use Merit and Talstar in my patch it doesn't seem to do much too
them. If they're coming in contact with either one however I'm not sure.

Hello Al,
Earwigs are nocturnal, and they fly.
I've heard that bats (yes, bats) are the best thing to control them. You
can actually buy bat houses. Not sure if you want to go that route...

Hello Steve J.--I find that Sevin controls nearly all insects in my garden
and I have used it for years, lightly as needed.
The exception is earwigs,we have a high population this year and they seem
to just laugh at Sevin and chew even more holes.
What can you suggest I look for in a garden center to control earwigs??
Thanks in advance--Al Eaton
