Re: compare the two

No Marc- I am not burying the vines- I was going to do that when the vine
reached the fence. The fruit grew more over night again- I am going to build
a shade hut for it- I do not want it to get damaged by the sun- I read the
heat can harden the skin and cause internal damage. I still want the vines
to reach the fence so I can bury them- they seemed to stop growing all
together.

For the first time I saw one of those yellow bugs with black stripes- I
think it is the cucumber beetle- my giants are planted in places that had
never been cultivated. I saw the bug in my family garden by the zucchini,
jack o lanterns, green peppers and egg plants. It would seem my zucchini
have been dealt a blow by something and the only bug I remember seeing a pic
of was the yellow bug with black stripes. I am going to have to buy the
Sevin- I did apply Ortho Bug Geta around my giants but that is for the slugs
and snails mostly- does anyone know if it will work on cucumber beetles? I
have not seen them around the giants- but I prefer preventative measures
over recovering measures.
