pumpkin setting

Help  I have 9 plants going strong in my patch after a late start,i got
4 pumpkins set last weekend,4 more will be ready by this weekend.But my
problem is my best pumpkin has a long stem that is curved up in the air
with the pumpkin setting right on top of the stem,to get it on the
ground i would have to twist the main vein to much,the stem is long will
it curve to the ground with out help.
