Steve,
Sorry to hear the 561's= 941X1006 rotted the 1006father was absolutely the
slowest growing plant in the patch Darn near pulled it ...put it in a throw
together patch so I could use it as a pollinator.......basically left it
alone and it got minimal care.....it was the puniest plant and the pumpkin
set on it was in last place......then it happen and i don't know why it
just took off late in the season and popped a 702my largest for
97.......the 941plantpumpkin 561 weighed in 60lbs over the charts and was
an extremely thick shoulder pumpkin so the cross has the
potential.......with a good background......the other seed from 606 plant
which is the 449marcellus by the 559geerts the parents of these pumpkins
are from the famous 804X990.......and it is always best to try and start
seeds in a controled setting...also Steve don't hold back plant lots of
back-ups ....i plant 30-35 seeds for 8 sites and you would be surprised how
mother nature can whittle them down......good luck !!...brock
