Hey guys, anone ever tried to trap cucumber beetles?
I heard about soaking a cotton ball in clove oil (or allspice oil), and
stapling it to those yellow sticky traps, and it supposed to trap them like
crazy! I never heard of this before, but if you think about it, they ARE
attracted to the yellow pumpkin flowers, and with the added smell of the clove
oil, I guess they would be attracted. PLUS it also traps aphids and
whiteflies, etc.! Cool, hey? It seems worth a try!
ALSO, for squash vine borers....you can get a garden syringe and inject
beneficial nematodes in the stem to kill them, and it is totally harmless to
the plant! All this stuff without and extra chemicals, too. Anyone else ever
try either of these?!
