Dude! You have got to buy the book on growing pumpkins.
Yes, the shoulder touching the vine is going to rip the thing apart in about
three weeks. Slowly, a half inch per day, in the evening, move the vine away
from the pumpkin until the pumpkins is at right angles to the vine. If
necessary, move the pumpkin, not the vine, but better to move the vine. Prop
it its new position each evening with a stick or rock, or it will creep back
overnight.
