I used Both Malathion and Dalithion the first few years and found that it
needed to be applied almost every few days to do the cuke in. The side
effect was that I also did in all the bees in the neighborhood (without
knowing). Now I spray with Seven once and try not to spray the flowers even
if there are cuk's in em. I was infested on Tuesday 8am sprayed. got rain
at noon. haven't seen a cuke since. but lots of bees. This may be the last
time I spray as if they don't come back in force before my pumpkins are say
300 pounds. Then I don't really worry about them because I then have lots
of foliage for them to eat - since I generally don't have time to prune my
plants.
