Hi Mathew,

I had stopped all fert and pesticides one week prior to pollination period
for all my plants...I didn't want anything to hinder pollination. I don't
know yet if the plant is "responsible", all my other pumps on this plant are
fine so far. I think that the blowout may have just been a case of too much
growth at one time. The pump was averaging 2 1/2" to 3" growth in circ per
24hrs. The day before the blow out, it rained all morning and then the sun
came out real strong for the rest of the day. That night, I had 4"
growth...the next morning it was blown. Just for records sake I remesured
and it had grown almost 5". 4 or 5 inches growth on a 24" pump seems to be a
lot of growth at one time...so....

It is a very fast grower, nice leaves, and female flowers everywhere.
Offhand I can say that the plant has 15 females in the making (not counting
those pollinated), some as small as a pea and a few to open tomorrow and in
the next few days.. The blown one had 7 segments, 2 have 5 segments and 2
others have 4.
Till next time...
