Tertiary Vines

I have a Goetz 917 plant that is approximately 38 feet across. I thought
that I damaged the leaves by foliar feeding excessive amounts of fertilizer,
but with the comments on brittle leaves, I am starting to wonder. I pruned
the worst looking leaves from the center.
I don't know if I have a disease, or if it is the heat. The leaves brown on
the margin, then they yellow as they go toward the center. After a week or
so, the entire leaf is brown with areas of green and brittle. I sprayed
with chlorothalonil today, and if it is a disease, this should do the trick.
I now have tertiary vines coming off my secondary vines. Because of this
damage, should I allow the tertiary vines to grow? Most of the information
I have read says to prune them. I thought it might be good to let them
grow in light of the damage this plant has absorbed. Any thoughts??
