I have used Round-up one bindweed and I think it killed it. Also
called wild sweetpotato but isn't. I dug one once. the storage root was
20 inches deep and then ran horizonally. It was a hard rough woody root
about 5/8 in diameter.
I never use anything but Round-up it is non volatile and can be used
among your plants, but I have tried that in Pumpkin. Among daylilies,
etc, I just touch a wetted cotton wrapped stick to Quackgrass, poison
ivy, tree seedlings and everything dies. I buy the real stuff (44% I
think) and dilute it 3X or 10x for touching or 30 to 50 ml per gallon if
spraying. 24D and some others affect grapes. I have had grape damage
when folks used 24D 3/8 mile away.
