Dear Howard, or whom ever answers this e-mail:
I live in Waterloo, Illinois, just 20 minutes southeast of St. Louis. I
currently have a very large pumpkin growing in my garden, which has started
to turn orange. I'm not sure if I should leave the pumpkin alone, and
attempt to let it grow more, or should I pick the pumpkin and place it in my
basement, where it is very cool, to store until Fall? I have your book on
how to grow giant pumkin's, but cannot find any information on the best time
to pick the pumpkin. However, like your book recommends, if I continue to
let it grow, I will provide a cover for shade. Thanks for your help . . .
and I plan to order your giant pumpkin seeds for next growing season.
