Will additional females develop?

Another newbie question...
(never having seen plants grow like THIS before- good seed! :-) )
Will new/additional female flowers develop on "older" vine growth?
Or does each leaf junction only get "one chance" at producing a female
flower?
I see that as the vines are actively growing, that some junctions toss
out a female flower. But what happens to older sections of vine,
sections that either had females that aborted (due to heat) or never had
females yet? Will they EVER develop a(nother) female flower, or does
that only happen on the newer growth?
