Timed watering

I have seen a battery-powered timer, made by Nelson, that controls water
flow at the spigot. It requires 2 "C" batteries and can trigger one "event"
per day. It costs around $30.

Has anyone tried this product? Is it worth purchasing? It seems ideal for
watering during vacations. Any time, really.

I am hesitant to buy it because I don't know exactly how much water I would
be putting on my AGs. The factors I need to determine are average flow
(gallons per minute) of my watering system (the device measures by minutes,
not gallons), watering method (sprinkler or soaker), and pumpkin size.

However, I don't know if the timer is reliable. That's where I hope you
folks can help.

Anybody ever use this thing?
