Polly: I believe the oil and confection class would be (3heads) would be for a
best of display type? best looking seed heads? all the veggies I've seen on
display at Topsfield are displayed in groups of three i.e. 3 tomatoes, carrots,
three broccoli heads these are the best looking ones perfect red tomatoes no
green shoulders ect ect the proper shape and ideal length as in carrots.
I'm not sure about the tame category? maybe it's just a generic name for
whichever sunflower type? but by largest do they just mean largest seed head??
Go to this link it'll explain the difference between oil and confectionery
sunflowers
one type produces the edible seeds and the other type is grown for oil.
