My leaves are not turning yellow...in fact, they look pretty healthy except for the brown edges. It has been in the high 90s almost everyday here, but that is not out of the ordinary. I do not have misters..I didn't even know you needed them. How do you set them up? I have been watering every day for 30 minutes at 7:00 in the morning. The ground puddles but usually soaks in in about 6 or 7 minutes. By the next morning, the ground is still cool to the touch but not totally dry.
This is my third year at trying to grow pumpkins, but this is the first year I have really gotten serious. I thought you could just throw out some seeds and have some pumpkins for Halloween. Needless to say, I have never gotten a single pumpkin to grow to maturity. Who knew what Squash bugs & vine borers were?! So I am excited to try for a true pumpkin this year. I have really enjoyed all the advice you get on this mail list and all the sites.. It's great!
I have been to Church this week..but I think God is letting me know that you don't get anything worthwhile without working for it!!!

As I recall, over watering produces soft, yellowing leaves. Brown edges mean
too much heat and not enough water getting out to those last few cells.
Has it been hotter than in Texas usual? Do you use misters?
Have you been to church this week?
