Dead ending Vines

Hubby feels like he just cut off his right arm. He dead ended the vine from the  Castalucci 682.4.He torments himself about it every season.To chop or not to chop that is the question.
He can never decide, and as long as we have room, I'd just assume let it run, but he had a little accident with the hose while fertilizing, and oh well the deed is done. I've heard comments on the list that either way is fine. We shall see.......We shall see....
