Re: Pumpkin Newbie with Questions

Hi Mark,
My name is also Mark and even though I have attempted growing the AG for the last 2 years I consider myself a rookie because this is my first time being really serious about it. I have many of the same questions as you but I can help with one of your questions.
Be very careful of mulch!!!!! Especially if u have squash bugs or squash vine borers in your area. Year before last I use bark mulch and last year I used straw. These darn bugs hide very well in the mulch and seem to multiply freely in it! It cost me every plant on both years. This year I am using no mulch and relying on myself to keep the moisture there.

Good Luck n the Big One!!!
Mark Fowler
