Re: Leaf Problems

Mark,

It is hard to say what exactly is causing the spotting on your plants leaves. The three most likely reasons are likely:
a: fungal attack
b: bacterial infection
c: nutrient deficiency or toxicity

Its generally a good idea to begin spraying with a good fungicide when seedlings first break ground and continue every 7-10 days until harvest. Most fungi and all bacterial diseases have no cures, so controls are the only recourse.

Brown to black spotting at this stage is not normal (though I suspect exceedingly common).

You should be able to find a fair amount of information about plant problems on the internet.

Have a great year and I hope you pop out big one.

They were looking really good until the last few days. They are getting brown, dry spots on them ranging from very small up to the size of a nickle. If I put my finger under the leaf you can actually see it thru the leaf. The unaffected parts of the plant look very healthy.
