I am also a first time grower but I am not trying to grow 800+ just
several 100 pounders and I would be happy. I used the direct method
about a month and a half ago and just got my first female flower to
bloom. I also have several males now and am dying to pollinate but have
been pretty good at resisting. I too want to see it grow. My vines are
around 10-12 ft long and my first femal is around 5 ft from te base.
Here is a location of my latest pic.....Have fun and be patient, you'll
definitely pollinate before mid July. The thing I noticed here in
California is once the rains stopped and the sun came out my plants
started growing like crazy....
