Re:number of lobes vs. weight

the 1140 stelts was a 4 lober i believe. i dont think a distinction
can be made easily. conditions are too subjective to a have a true test.
if the largest official pumpkin grown in the world was a 4 lober, whose to
say that more lobes doesnt equal a smaller fruit? but on the flip side,
whose to say that a 6 lober wont be the next record breaker? i guess you
could try it on a plant with a 4, 5, 6 lober, but i think it would have to
be grown on the same plant in the same conditions. i see the logic in
thinking that more lobes would be more likely to produce a big
pumpkin.........more seeds to nourish inside the fruit..............fruit
needs to be large to nourish all those seeds..........it makes sense, but i
think it would be hard to prove with any consistant predictability.
