I can sympathize with your breaking of the main vine. I have made many mistakes with my pumpkins over the last 6 years.
I once was trimming a cord over my pumpkin and dropped my jackknife only to bury itself 2 inches into my giant.
4 years ago I was trying to put the tape around my pumpkin to measure it and put a big gash in it with the zipper of my carhart.
I don't know how many times I have broken a promising pumpkin off trying to reposition it on the vine. Just tried to move it another inch. Couldn't wait another few days.
I was wondering if anyone else on the list had any horror stories. Who knows one of your stories could stop one of us from making a mistake that could end our season.
