Re: burying vines

I would start burying the vines at the base of each leaf. It will encourage more root groth by forming more tap roots (this will help when it starts getting too dry).
As far as you female drying up,  did you hand pollunate it? If you didn't and if there isn't any bee activity they will start to grow, then shrivel up.
