Dear List:
My 1097.5 Beachy doubled for one section. It did not ribbon
(stayed round) but duplicated leaf and tendril nodes on both sides of the
vine. In the next section it returned to normal. Interesting that it
reverted without splitting into two vines. I had a double vine last year
and one of the unanticipated problems I encountered is that these vines are
more susceptible to breaks (less flexible).

Dear list,
It seems every year we have a few threads on the double main phenomenon...
Maybe I should pay more attention. Anyway, my 296-inch Holland plant
(845 Bobier X 940 Mombert) is a terrific plant, but has developed about one
foot of a "double main", which has now split into two "main" vines. I'm
definitely keeping this plant.
Should I clip one of the mains, leaving only one? When should I do this?
There is a picture of this on my site:

Please ignore the annoying pop-up ads.
Regards, Cliff
