bugs 'n things

Hi folks:

        Here's a question for you all, since we were still having frost
warnings here in Saskatchewan last week my plants are still in there cold
frames which appears to be the home of small ant like creatures with bronze
backs. Becasue of our cold weather my plants are only at the 3 leaf stage
and these bugs seem to gravitate towards them. The plants seem healthy
enough but the bugs most go. how soon can you spray your plants? I used
sevin last year but the plants were much bigger. Also anybody have much
problems with Gophers? I just moved to a small acreage and Gohhers are
lurking in my pre defined patch area. Perhaps an excuse to get a new 22. Any
help would be appreciated
