Is the pumpkin mailing list mail to much for you? Would you like to
reduce your mail and still send questions to the mailing list? I would
recommend joining the digest version of the mailing list. The digest
is one posting which contains 40k worth of mail. So you would get only
one posting a day with 20 messages contained in that one posting. You
can still respond to questions, but of course you would have to remove
all the other messages if you want to attach the original post.
To subscribe to the digest version (which and some others belong to)
Send your command to: majordomo@mallorn.com
IN the body: subscribe pumpkins-digest
If you plan on doing this, you must unsubscribe from the regular list.
This is what I would do to solve the problem in one post.
TO:majordomo@mallorn.com
Body:
subscribe pumpkins-digest
unsubscribe pumpkins
This way you get unsubscribe from pumpkins and subscribe to digest.
If you want to follow my process...... I am signed on to the digest
format and I delete every posting that I get. Then I review the
mailing list archives on the internet and reply to the postings on the
homepage. The mailing list archives are on this page
http://www.mallorn.com/lists/pumpkins
Look for a month of interest and press the link.
Look for a format you prefer to view. The default is a thread format.
You can also view the mail via date, name, and subject.
Press the hot link or subject of interest and you will get the posting
to read on a homepage.
Now if you want to respond, press the pumpkins@mallorn.com link and a
blank mail message should come up. You can now respond to the
question. You would need to type in the subject so people will
understand what you post is about. I just press quote on the blank from
and the whole page is reprinted on the email message. Next, I remove the
garbage and send off my response.
Now some of you think this is to much. I understand, but your in a
PARADIGM mode and you need to get out of it. Learn a new process.
