Anybody know where to get a good filter for my misting system?I'm going to
order a triton 40 sand media filter on Monday if I don't here of a cheaper
one. There almost 400 bucks and I need 2 of them.I'm taking water out of a
creek so it can't be a filter that is easily plugged. Thanks Jerry Rose

Jerry,
If you're misting, the water has to be really clean. I wonder if a 2 stage
filtration system might be best. One to get the coarse stuff out, then polish
it with a fine filter. Misting doesn't require large flow rates on the
filtration. I wonder if you could use a much smaller filter (less expensive)
to filter out the coarse stuff and then use an Arkal Disc filter. A 26 gpm
disc filter (200 mesh) costs 55 bucks in the Griffin Cat. You'd have to call
them to make sure 200 mesh is fine enough for misting. 400 dollar sandfilters
may be overkill unless you are doing other high flow rate stuff with the
water. I can't find my Zimmerman Irrigation Cat........they would have the
river water filters. Be sure to tell them your gpm requirements so you don't
get an oversized and overpriced filter. Griffin will have the fine filter for
misting 203-699-0919. Zimmerman irrigation is in Pennsylvania....may find
them in 1-800 information. Don't think you should have to go 800 dollars
plus, unless you are doing big acreage.
