I have used this method also. The only drawback is that they tend to get a 
little soft from moisture after a while. Gotta watch those botoms when 
moving. A previous list member and I have had a similar experience. I am 
lucky enough to have a good supply of this type of container. I work for an 
ice cream company. I prefer the half gallon size. Gives the roots plenty of 
room to grow.
