Dear List:
Someone who had known that I have been obsessed with this hobby of
trying to grow a giant pumpkin told me that they had read an article about
crumbling a viagra tablet into the surrounding soil has had a tremendous
effect on plant growth. Something about it contributes to the root
development, excessive vine growth and heavy fruit. Is there anything to
this or is someone trying to have some fun with a second year grower. I
know April fools is right around the corner. Best of luck to everyone in
2001.

They ARE pulling your leg.
There is nothing in Viagra that would make a pumpkin plant perform in an
extraordinary manner. Read about Viagra online, or ask your doc. The primary
element in Viagra is a vasodilator. It is not a miracle aphrodisiac as some
may think, nor do it's active ingredients work on plants. It definitely would
not cause a pumpkin to produce more seeds, nor a human for that matter!
