I was looking through the AGGC database and I am noticing that most plants are not started until late April or early May, is this just because of temperatures? if so what are the temperatures when you start your pumpkins in pots. It seems like everyone is trying to leave the pumpkins on the vines as long as possible before the weigh off so would it be a good idea to plant earlier if the temperatures were good? Here in New Mexico it is getting up to 60 degrees F and going down to about 30 at night could I plant soon?
