4.5 tons of pony manure. over 3500 sq ft gives
me.
281ppm-N, 58 ppm-P, and 171 ppm-K and 0.9% organic
matter.
The attached document tells us how to do the calculations for available
Nitrogen. Thanks to wise Gordon Tanner.!!!!!!!
The available N for my patch is 15% or 42ppm. I only want 10
ppm approximately so I will have to remove approximately 3/4 of what I have put
on or remove 3.4 Tons. I'll probably think I'm moving 6.8 tons by the time i'm
done.
Actual application of pony po will be 70
ppm-N, 14.5 ppm-P, and 43 ppm-K and 0.22% organic matter.
If I was not using any chemical fertilizers then a strictly organic
application of pony po to get 23ppm N in the top 9"
soil would see me put my 4.5 tons of pony po on 6,400 sq. feet
of garden. or 0.7 tons/1000 sq. ft. or for me 0.7 cubic yards. or 12-14
wheelbarrow loads. To allow for my chemical fertilizers in future all I need is 3
loads. This will be my guideline in future.
With Gordon's help I did it. I think this exercise should help a lot
of us.
No wonder I was always Blowin em here in Spencerville.
Bob.
