Watering vines

To the heavy hitters:
What is the best way to water the vines. I live in WV and tend to have heavy
fungi problems and heat. I used overhead watering methods last year but this
tends to wash off sprays and increase fungal problems. Leaves start to turn
color and wilt up etc. I've thought about misting but I know a heavy hitter in
my area that has trouble with more fungus even with them. My latest idea is
soaker hoses buried 3-4" in a grid fashion. Has anyone tried this? Does it
help cool the plant as well during hot weather in the day? How can I set up
this grid pattern idea? I'm planning on tilling in some fungicide granules 30
days prior to planting and maybe other methods. Any help is appreciated. Thank
You! Don
